Good Idea but...

I think this is a good idea but there needs to be some more well known books on here. Everything I've searched besides Harry Potter isn't here yet. I think the site needs some classics like To Kill a Mockingbird to get people more interested.

Arwen,
The system will surely need more books to cover ALL of the possible books that readers are likely to have read. Our focus has been on modern fiction, but other books will make their way into the system eventually. The subset of books available publicly represents only a fraction of the entire catalog of Booklamp's data.
Were you able to give us some thumbs up/thumbs down feedback on some of the Harry Potter book suggestions?
Keep in touch,
Dan

I can't judge the books until I see other graphs on ones I've read, but I'll get back to you when I can.

Any specific requests besides
To Kill a Mockingbird
? If you've already entered them in the "Request a Book" page (
http://beta.booklamp.org/forum/requestbook.php
), we'll let you know when they're available. It sounds like you have some interesting feedback, and if we can find more titles you've read then it helps us all out.

Hi,
I want to see some of these:
The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand
Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
Tess of the D'urbervilles by Thomas Hardy
Far From the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy
The Prince & The Pauper by Charles Dickens
Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen
And that's just to name a few. I think adding a LOT of classics to this site will help boost it.
Cosette.

Cossette,
I don't know if you've had the chance to check out the public beta version of our book suggestion engine. We have some of the authors you mention, and we're working on getting data from the specific titles you've got here:
Titles in the public engine:
Atlas Shrugged - Ayn Rand
Jude the Obscure - Thomas Hardy
Mansfield Park - Jane Austen
David Copperfield - Charles Dickens
Public sphere books will be added at some point (we have some already), but our primary focus is on the large majority of books that people are reading now; most of which were published after the 1930's.
Of course, we'll get more and more classics into the system.
Keep in touch,
Dan

Jonathan,
Only a small fraction of our data is available in the public beta engine.
