Could publishers be pursuaded to profile their books I wonder.  It might take some kind of book profiling common standard so that publishers didn't have to profile for every similar service on the web, but it might be a start in getting more books into the database.  Publishers have nowt to lose!

Library Web,

Our focus has been to work with Publishers, but I'm not sure I understand your suggestion.  Our methods provide very robust data about individual books, groups of books, and many many other avenues of intelligence that we simply don't have the time or resources to explore right now.

I agree, tho, that publisher have "nowt" to lose.  The research and development that we conduct on a daily basis is very revealing, but it is an entirely new perspective on observing literature; one that's still pretty foreign to the more traditional practices of the book publishing industry.

We continue to work with publishers, but small businesses like Booklamp are much more agile than large corporate firms, so we put a lot of focus on our own direction as well.

Keep in touch,
Dan

PS  We ought to have a new public beta available later this week - the version you've seen is a 2+ year old version.

Just FYI ... the new code & content is live now ... currently 2,078 titles, search & browse capabilities, and some significant tweaks (ongoing) to the matching formulas.
