I sent an e-mail to Baen Books today.  Enough of you have e-mailed us suggesting that we contact them about the project that it seems like a worthwhile thing to do.  Not only are we interested in hearing publisher's perspectives, Baen has a history of being proactive in how they market their books.  They've been known to release e-formats of their books in the past - if we could talk someone into letting us analyze their back catalog, we could learn some interesting things, perhaps.

So if you happen to know anyone at Baen Books, mention that they should chat with us.  Should be an interesting conversation.  Smiley

The VC conversation went well, today.  It was a good introduction - roughly 20 minutes long - and I think that's an open door we can explore when we decide for sure what we want to do in terms of "next moves".  Most likely that sort of thing will be moving forward towards the end of April when we have some additional meetings, and we'll have a better idea of how different cards lay.

Technically, I should make a little update post in the semi-daily updates... but it's Friday, about 6:30 p.m. and time to go rent a movie.

Have a good weekend, everyone.

I just discovered BookLamp via the IAAP newsletter and believe it to be a wonderful idea; I listen to books on CD due to a long commute and often think that was a great book I'd like to find similar ones.  I'm usually limited to asking friends if they have read (or listened to) any good authors/books lately to get new material.

If you can get the right people to listen to you I can see BookLamp being big...real big.  Best of luck to you and I'll stay tuned to see where you go!!!

PS. Can't wait to tell my friends about you!!
