Last week's live broadcast was satisfying.  I waited until about 15 minutes before I posted the link or the time, so I was surprised when people actually showed up.  The whole live setup was unpolished, but since it's something we'll be doing from time to time, it'll get better.

The main update is simply the statement that - after having some long talks with the crew - Paul and I are going to take BookLamp and work on it full time.  Though we've put in hundreds of hours up until now, it's been mainly on our own time, working from about 8:00 p.m. to 3 or 4 in the morning.  By deciding to move forward with this, we're switching to more regular hours, finding an office, showing up at the same time in the morning and working until it's time to go home.

As part of that, I've cleared much of my plate.  I quit my job at About.com - or am in the process of quiting - where I've worked writing about video games for over five years now.  As an independent contractor, it's not my only source of income, but it certainly frees up my time (and means I can no longer deduct my Nintendo Wii from my taxes).

It's a substantial change.  Paul is in the process of doing the same thing, cutting back on his contracts in order to make more time for BookLamp.  As a part of that, we'll start drawing up buisness plans, contacting VC and other potential companies, countinue with meetings, explore every option.

Also, once we're set up in our office, we'll have another live broadcast, though with a bit more of a format, this time.  Maybe a 15 minute update, 15 minutes of questions, 30 minute cap.  Paul is working on an intigrated blog and RSS feed specific to BookLamp as we speak, which should make communications easier.

That's it for the moment.

Good to see you guys are able to start putting more time into this.  We've been waiting a bit for things to start moving, and it looks like they're about to.  Cheesy

I'm going to put forth an effort to make it to the next broadcast; hopefully my schedule will work out.  Between school and work I don't have a whole lot of free time...

I'm also hoping to make it to the next one.  Will you be using Ustream again?  I've listened to a few live MuggleCasts there (peak audience of around 1100, which gives you a good indication of what Ustream is capable of), but I've never watched any live video on it.
